Abbie Sandford, National New Business Manager for Coface UK, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Women in Insurance Awards 2020 in the category of ‘Young Insurance Woman of the Year (small to medium firms)’.
This fiercely fought accolade highlights her commitment to education, training, leadership and mentoring within Coface UK and Ireland.
One of the initiatives that Abbie has implemented is the ‘Women to Win’ event, giving female brokers the opportunity and platform to come together and share best practices annually. During lockdown, Abbie called every broker she has received a submission form from to promote client focus and to add a personal touch during a difficult time.
Following on from the ‘Women to Win’ theme, Abbie organised a ‘Women’s Financial Health’ seminar for Coface employees, where she invited Pascale Bayle, Group Head of Compliance, to speak of her experience and impressive career. Abbie is also a member of the social committee and during lockdown has been instrumental at keeping employees feeling connected and motivated.
“I’m very excited to have been nominated for this award, but to be shortlisted as a finalist is the icing on the cake. I’m extremely keen to keep promoting the insurance industry, especially to women, and am proud of what I have been able to achieve as well as my growth here at Coface.”
Winners will be announced at the virtual ceremony taking place on Tuesday 10th November, good luck Abbie!
